Signs your website needs a redesign

01.

It doesn’t work properly on phones. Over 60% of your visitors are on mobile. If they have to pinch and zoom, they leave. Google also ranks you lower for it.
02.

It takes more than 3 seconds to load. Every extra second of load time costs you visitors. Slow sites also fail Google’s Core Web Vitals, which directly affects rankings.
03.

It looks like it was built in 2015. Because it probably was. Visitors judge your business in about 3 seconds, and an outdated design tells them you’ve stopped caring.
04.

It doesn’t generate inquiries. Traffic without contact form submissions usually means the site’s structure, messaging, or calls to action are working against you.
05.

You can’t update it yourself. If changing a phone number requires calling a developer, the site was built wrong.
06.

Browsers show “Not Secure.” A missing or misconfigured SSL certificate scares off visitors and is a negative ranking signal.

A redesign that protects your SEO

Here’s what most business owners don’t know: a badly executed redesign can wipe out years of Google rankings overnight. It happens constantly. URLs change without redirects, page titles get rewritten, content gets trimmed, and Google treats the new site as a stranger.

We treat SEO preservation as a core part of every redesign, not an add-on:

– Full crawl of your current site before we touch anything. We record every URL, title, heading, and its current rankings.

– A complete 301 redirect map. Every old address points to its new equivalent, so neither Google nor your visitors ever hit a dead end.

– Content and keyword continuity. Pages that rank keep the elements that make them rank.

– Post-launch monitoring. We track your positions for 30 days after launch and fix anything that moves.

We documented the entire process in our website redesign SEO checklist. Feel free to use it even if you never hire us.

How the redesign process works

01.

Audit & plan (week 1). We crawl your current site, review your analytics and rankings, and agree on scope, sitemap, and a fixed price. You know exactly what you’re getting before any work starts.

03.

Build (week 2–3). We build on WordPress, so you’ll be able to edit content yourself. Fast, mobile-first, tested on real devices.

05.

Post-launch support (30 days). We monitor rankings, speed, and forms, and fix anything that needs fixing, all included in the price.

02.

Design (week 1–2). You get a homepage design first. We revise until you approve it, then the rest of the site follows the approved direction. No surprises on launch day.

04.

SEO-safe migration (week 3–4). Redirect map goes live, metadata is carried over, and we submit the new sitemap to Google the same day.

Website redesign pricing: how it works

Every website is different, so we don’t do one-size-fits-all price lists. What we do instead is simple: you get a fixed quote within 48 hours of the free audit, and the price we agree on is the price you pay. No hourly billing, no surprises mid-project.

What determines your quote:

Scope of the redesign.
A visual refresh of an existing structure costs a fraction of a full rebuild with new pages and rewritten content.

Number of pages and templates.
A 6-page business site and a 40-page site with a blog and booking system are very different projects.

Content work.
If your current texts are good, we migrate them. If they need rewriting, that’s part of the quote, stated separately, so you see exactly what you’re paying for.

SEO migration complexity.
A site with hundreds of ranking pages needs a more careful migration than a five-page site.

We work in three tiers: Refresh (new design on your existing structure, 1–2 weeks), Full Redesign (new design, structure, and migration, 2–4 weeks), and Redesign + SEO (everything above plus 3 months of SEO work after launch). The audit tells us which one you actually need, and we’ll say so honestly, even when it’s the smallest one.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a website redesign cost?

It depends on three things: the scope (refresh vs. full rebuild), the number of pages, and how much content needs rewriting. Rather than quoting a generic range, we audit your site for free and send a fixed, itemized quote within 48 hours. The price we agree on is final, with no hourly billing.

How long does a website redesign take?

Two to four weeks for most small business sites. A refresh can be done in about a week; larger sites or e-commerce take longer. You'll get a specific timeline with your quote.

Will I lose my Google rankings after a redesign?

Not if the migration is done properly. Rankings drop when URLs change without redirects or when ranking content gets deleted. We map every old URL to its new equivalent and preserve the elements Google already rewards. Our process is public, see the redesign SEO checklist.

Do I need a full redesign or just a refresh?

If your site's structure works and it generates some inquiries, a refresh is usually enough. If the structure, content, and design all have problems, or the site was built more than 5-6 years ago, a full redesign is more cost-effective than patching. We'll tell you which one you actually need in the audit, even if it's the cheaper option.

Can you keep my current CMS?

Usually yes. We work primarily with WordPress, and most sites can stay on their existing platform. If a platform change would genuinely help, we'll explain why and what it involves.

Do you work with businesses outside New York?

Yes. We serve New York businesses and work remotely with clients across the US. The entire process (audit, design reviews, launch) works the same over video calls.
